Dear Mrs Stotts:

\JThe receipt of your letter of Jan. 3 regarding our trust fund brings to mind
the fact that we have never been informed as to the exact status of this fund
as influenced by the demise of the College of Emporia.   I am wondering if
you might enlighten us on this matter.

Another matter of no great immediate concern but something that might be
corrected is that our check comes made out to the two of us rather than to
Arthur L. Samuel or Bernice D. Samuel and so seems to require both of our
endorsements. This is no great problem now but it would simplify the
problem when one of us dies if the survivor could continue to cash the
checks, a reasonable thing to do since the fund is set up to pay to the
survivor for his or her life time.  Do you think that this should be fixed?
